Chartering Services

Dry cargo chartering services involve sourcing suitable vessels for transporting specific cargoes such as grains, cement, fertilizers and other dry bulk commodities. We leverage our extensive network of shipowners and operators to find vessels that meet our client's requirements in terms of cargo volume, vessel size, loading and discharge ports, and other specifications. We act as brokers on all sizes up to Panamax.

Charter Party Negotiation

We assist in negotiating and drafting charter party agreements between the charterer and shipowner. At Albatros we ensure that the contract terms cover important aspects such as freight rates, laytime (the allowed time for loading and discharging), demurrage (charges for exceeding laytime), responsibilities of each party, and any specific cargo handling requirements.

Cargo Logistics and Operations

Dry cargo chartering services often extend to logistics and operational support. We coordinate and manage the entire transportation process, including cargo loading and discharge operations, customs clearance, documentation, and compliance with international regulations. At Albatros, we assist our prinicipals in managing risks associated with dry cargo chartering. We provide advice on cargo insurance, charterer's liability insurance, and other risk mitigation strategies to protect the client's interests and minimize potential financial losses. We encompass negotiations and fair terms and we are always aware of the new regulations arising when closing agreements.

Post-Fixing / Operation Services

Beyond the chartering process, our operations department may offer additional support, such as post-fixing services. This can include post-voyage analysis, settlement of obligations between the charterer and shipowner, and evaluating performance against agreed terms.
